5. Datsun redi-Go (2.80 lakh- 4.37 lakh)

Datsun redi-GO is offered in 5 colors: Ruby Red, Lime Green, Crystal Silver, Opal White, and Bronze Grey. However, some of these colors are available in specific versions.

Datsun redi-GO has a 799 cc and a 999 cc engine, both are available in a 3-cylinder configuration. Power output for the two motors stands at 54 PS and 68 PS while the torque is rated at 72 Nm and 91 Nm, respectively. Both the power-trains are paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The bigger engine delivers 22.5 kmpl and the smaller engine can delivers 22.7 kmpl.

The 800cc variants of Datsun redi-GO had a grey interior, which looked pretty basic. With the launch of the 1.0-litre variant, Datsun updated all trims of the redi-GO with black panels, which gives the cabin a richer vibe. The Datsun Go is powered by a 1.2-litre, three cylinder engine that makes 68 PS of power and 104 Nm of torque. It’s a nice quick revving engine that’s a joy to drive. The 2018 update did add about 150kgs to the kerb weight with new features and strengthened chassis and this has somewhat dulled it’s pocket rocket nature to a small degree. It’s still a very good mannered hatch in the city with it light steering and clutch and peppy engine giving it a very nimble nature.

The Alto is powered by a BS6-compliant 796cc 3-cylinder petrol mill, delivering 47PS/69Nm, paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. It has a fuel efficiency of 22.05kmpl.
